| We would like to share the beginning of a new chapter in the seven year old course of the Aarth-Astha Disability Helpline!
The Disability helpline is part of the Aarth-Astha Disability Resource Centre.The Aarth-Astha Resource Centre serves as an information resource and provider for children and persons with disabilities, their families and other stakeholders. It promotes a Rights-based approach by advocating on disability related issues. This Resource Centre aims to serve Northern India and proactively reach out with information to persons with disabilities and their families.
The Aarth- Astha Disability Helpline now enters into collaboration with The National Trust for the welfare of Persons with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Mental Retardation and Multiple Disability.
The collaboration with The National Trust will enable the helpline to give regular, updated information on the various Schemes, Facilities and programmes initiated by them. Through this linkage we hope to be able to extend the scope of the helpline and reach out to many more organizations and people in Northern India besides Delhi and the NCR.
ABOUT THE AARTH - ASTHA NATIONAL TRUST DISABILITY HELPLINE
The Aarth-Astha National Trust disability helpline believes Information is power and seeks to pro-actively disseminate information.
The Aarth-Astha Disability Helpline has been able to touch the life of over three thousand people in the seven years of its existence.
It aims to reach out to as many people as is possible and enable them to access their rights- supporting them, wherever required, with information, referrals and counselling.
The Disability Helpline Reaches out to:
- Children and Persons with disability
- Families and Carers of persons with disabilities
- Professionals working in the field of disability
- Other Stakeholders
The Disability Helpline Reaches Out With Counselling, Referrals And Information On:
- Laws and Rights,
- Facilities, Schemes,
- Disability Certificate, Education,
- Health,
- Guardianship and
- Other Disability issues and Concerns.
The Helpline team also reaches-out to Persons with disability and their families, professionals, Organisations, Parent groups... by going to them and sharing information, conducting workshops and training sessions.
